What Next?

Task Overview

The Google Selfie Video project is a data collection project where participants submit video data which is used to train Facial Recognition AI. This is used to improve everyday technologies like access control in buildings, smartphones and laptops etc.

Purpose: To Train AI for facial verification

Task: Submit 10 selfie videos of 30-40 seconds each.

Requirement: Task is considered completed once 1 video is submitted in each category (10)

Qualifying

To participate in this project, participants need to meet the following conditions:

1. Understand basic English.
2. Have a GMail account. If you don’t want to use your regular GMail, or if you don’t have a GMail account you can create a new one. In Fact we encourage you to create a new GMail account specifically for this project to guarantee that you pass validation (more info below).
3. Must have a valid photo ID. To prove you are an independent adult.
4. Aged must be from 18-25 years.

Step 1: Register

Before you can participate, you must first express an interest in the project. You submit your details on this form:

The project team will then validate your email. Simply checking that it has not been used in other rounds of this project. Due to the volumes being handled sometimes this can take a day or two. You will be notified immediately your email is approved.

While waiting, you must add the Gmail address to your mobile device if you haven’t already done so. All further communication to you will be done using the GMail you provide above.

Step 2: Consent & Verification

Once your GMail is validated, you will get an email from the project team asking you to do 2 things.

Part 1: Participant Privacy Notice Link: You MUST follow this link and accept the privacy policy before you can proceed to the next step.

Common mistake: Some participants are replying to the email saying they accept the terms. This is NOT sufficient. For you to complete the task you must open the link and agree to the Participant Privacy Notice.

Part 2: ID Verification Call booking link: This link will allow you to book a call where your Age can be verified using your ID document. Please open this link and book an appointment with the project manager who has the best availability for you.
